As the hot summer continues to dry up the region and hinterland with the ever increasing chance of bush fires, it’s nice to know there are people in our community that volunteer their time and service to help keep our community protected should a fire occur.
Bonogin Valley Rural Fire Brigade is a volunteer brigade providing 24 hour response coverage supported by neighbouring rural fire brigades across the Gold Coast along with Fire and Emergency personnel. They have been servicing the community since 1992 which has included anything from attending bush fires, structural fires, car accidents as well as supporting the local community in storm and flood clean up. These organisations only exist with the support of our community.
There are many ways people can help from volunteering their time, financial donations, or making sure their local council and government representatives know how much you value the services of the rural fire brigades around the region.
